Log in to save this devotionalIt is important to know that there is no identity outside Christ because all are dead outside Christ. “In Christ”, marks the beginning of the discovery of identity. When the scripture says to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, it means to sink into the reality of the newness of life that Christ brings to you. The more you discover who you are in Him, the more you realize the responsibility that lies therein. But this responsibility is not from a place of burdens but of ease because it flows from your new nature. When Paul says to make no provision for the flesh, he means to cut off its supply because it has been impaled. It's like trying to retrieve information from a dead person's brain. There is a thought pattern that is consistent with our new identity, so growth for us is as mentioned in [Ephesians 4:23-24 NLT [23] Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. [24] Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Growth for us is in knowledge. So, let's invest heavily in it.
