The Gift of Grace is not just one of God’s gifts called “grace.” It is the sum total of all of God's riches that the believer experiences because of Christ’s sacrifice and finished works. It can also be understood as the outward manifestation or expression of the divine influence in one's heart. As we read through the Scriptures, we will realize that the omnibus understanding of grace as unmerited favor may not give the full picture, because in Bible study, context gives meaning to words. Ephesians 1v3 says ' Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,' So your experience of and participation in all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in Christ is grace. In many instances in the Scriptures, you will see the phrase “The Gift of God” used. When Jesus was at Samaria with the woman at the well, He said, '... “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”'John 4:10 Also, when Peter was at Samaria in Acts 8:18-20, he used the phrase in his interaction with the Sorcerer, because the sorcerer offered money to do the works Peter did by the Spirit. 'Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!' Acts 8:18-20 You can already realize that the Holy Spirit in a man's heart is God's gift of grace. He is the evidence of the new birth - a fresh new life in Christ. You were marked with Him as God’s possession when you believed. And you don't have to pay because He is the Free Gift. Ephesians 1:13 (NLT) 'And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.' That is the evidence of God’s outrageous kindness and riches to you (Ephesians 2:6-7 [NLT] 'For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.') The Spirit you have received is the Gift of God. The one living inside of you is the gift of grace. What we are saying is that the fullness of grace dwells within you. Nothing else is left outside to find. He (the Holy Spirit in you) is the sum total of all God's riches indwelling the believer. When He came to live in you, all the riches of heaven were emptied into you, and you were made the Heaven of God. His throne is now in your heart. Hallelujah! Prayer: Father, your kindness is just overwhelming. As I discover your goodness every day, I grow even more in love with you. Thank you for your Spirit inside of me. You made me wonder the moment you chose to live in me. I’m immensely grateful for your gift.
