Suffering For Christ (Pt 2)

Philippians 1:29 ESV For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

The perspective on reality we usually have determines our expectations of and approach to life. Popular statements that sound biblical have arisen, but are not even close to what the Bible communicates. Statements like, "if it's mine it will come to me," "if it's God's will, I will have it," "heaven helps those who help themselves," "God is in control of all things," and more like that. Many can't understand why we say God is good when there's evil in the world. Why will a good God show God's people to suffer? And the "wicked" ones seem to be having a fun-filled day. But is God truly in control of all things? Does he permit some evil and rebuke others? Or is he a good God? When God created all things in the scripture, he looked at it and said, It was good. The moment he made man and said he should have dominion over all, things changed. His intention was for man to rule on this realm and report to our be yeilded to him. God gave humanity a gift called willpower so that they could make decisions. But he didn't give man the ability to choose the consequences. Man chose whom to obey: whether the voice of God or the voice of the devil. Romans 6:16 NLT [16] Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Evil is therefore the result of man's decision to choose against God or yield to the devil. He is the one who had the power of death (Hebrews 2:14), and he's the murderer from the beginning, and the father of all lies (John 8:44). He is the adversary who seeks to devour (1 Peter 5:8-9) In the world we live in, wicked people and perpetrators of evil are simply those who have submitted themselves to the devil and his demons to do his bidding. When they stay long enough in some, the evil becomes a habit and no longer an external influence. And God respects their will as equally as he does yours. This is why, as believers, we must pray, cast out those wicked spirits, and restrict their influence. And we must preach to prevent further possession. Please make sure you embrace a consistent habit of praying for all in authority so that we may live in peace (1 Timothy 2:1-4) Prayer: Father, you are a God of peace, and in you there's no darkness at all. No evil. Thank you for the truth of your words. I appreciate your consistency. Hallelujah
