Fellowship With The Word

God is Responsible and Proactive in Love

Romans 5:2 TPT 'Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!'

In Ex 19v5-6, there are very interesting promises God made to the children of Israel, predicated on their obedience to the covenant and to his voice. Exodus 19:5-6 NKJV [5] Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you SHALL BE a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. [6] And you SHALL BE to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” Meaning how well they obeyed the laws determined whether or not they could partake of the benefits of the promises of God. In other words, their righteousness (or right relationship with God) was by keeping some standards. Unfortunately, no one could meet or maintain the standards perfectly. Well, when Christ came, he showed up as a man and satisfied the righteous requirements of the law (Rom 8v4) for all who were under those laws. Today, by the obedience of one man (CHRIST), that right relationship is attained, and there is the confidence of access to God's best. Romans 5:19 NKJV says [19] For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Christ's obedience reconciled us, placing us in a right relationship and making God's promises available to us. By faith, we identify with them and have access. The same promises of God to Israel that they should get by obedience to the law were delivered to us by faith. By faith in the obedience of Christ, this is who we've become... I Peter 2:9 NKJV [9] But YOU ARE a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; Sounds familiar? Friends, as you run the race, depend on Christ who began the good work in you, to perfect it. Nobody could want your best as He does. He is your Helper. He is your Counselor, He is your Advocate. In fact, He's your Life (Col 3v4). I hope you can see how much He loves us. We messed up, and He didn’t wait to take responsibility for reconciliation. He was responsible and proactive in His expression of love. The scripture says God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5v8). He's our example. Be confident in this! Prayer: Lord, I’m grateful for Christ's obedience. I’m immeasurably thankful for the lavish display of love towards me. I acknowledge your faithfulness and intentionality. Christ is my life. I have help in Him. And I’m satisfied with you.
