The greatest reason for the unproductivity of the faith of the believer is ignorance of who we are in Christ. As a believer, you’ve got to learn about the new life you have received now that you are born again. You don't automatically know it because of how long you have been in the faith. As you go through the rest of today's word, let God define you, and choose to see yourself as he sees you. Not as the world sees you. We’re done with trends and people pleasing. So, who are you? You are a new creature (2 Cor 5v17). A descendant and/or son of God born not of flesh but of God (John 1:12-13, 3:6). Born of the Incorruptible Word of God, and of the will of God (1 Peter 1:23, James 1:18). Created in Christ as the epitome and greatest expression of God's craftsmanship (Eph 2v10). You belong to Him (Rom 8:9, Eph 1:13-14, 1 Cor 6:20). Because you're born of Him (as His child), you've received the Spirit of adoption (sonship), so YOU’RE AN HEIR - meaning you're a possessor. An heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. You have an inheritance (Romans 8:15-17, Eph 1:11). That's because you are the seed of Abraham by your faith in Christ (Gal 3v29). A true Jew because of the change of heart (Romans 2v28-29), and evidently manifested as God's letter or message, written not with ink but with the Spirit, and not on paper but on renewed hearts (2 Cor 3v3). You're part of God's favorite stock (a chosen race, species, or nation), a kingly and priestly, consecrated tribe. The object of display of God's praise (1 Peter 2v9). You're also a native of 'God's town', with citizenship in heaven, and a member of His household (Eph 2v19). So you live in the Spirit (Romans 8:9, Galatians 5:25) and you live by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). You've also become the dwelling place of God's Spirit and the temple of God. God's harbor, headquarters, and embassy in the earth (Rom 8:9, 1 Cor 3:16-17, 6:19). You are the evidence or Testament of God's righteousness to deal with sin in Christ (2 Cor 5v21). A part of God's own body, being one with him (Eph 5v30, 1 Corinthians 6v17). Let this soak in as you define yourself by these truths. You cannot afford to have an inferiority complex when God has made you the best. If God is for you, who can be against you? Prayer: Father, the extent of your love and generosity perpetually keeps me in awe. It's amazing to think that this and more is what you have done for me. And all you required from me was to believe and obey. Thank you for your love, and I yield myself to your will for me as I define myself by the image you gave me in Christ. Amen
