Fellowship With The Word

You Are God's Poetry

1 Peter 1:23 NLT “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.”

As a child of God, doing the word is natural to you. Any deviation from this standard is the anomaly. It is abnormal for God's seed not to do righteousness. It's out of place for the child of love not to walk in love. It's only because of the reality of your new birth that you can live like Him. That's why when you see him you can see you. His nature is your current wiring. 1 Peter 1:23 AMPC says [23] You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. Think about that. Your new nature has an immortal origin rooted in the living Word, not a mortal one. The sperm or seed that brought you forth was divine. That seed is God's Living Word. The one who is born again is called a new creature (2 Corinthians 5v17). That new creature, scripture says, is recreated in Christ as God's masterpiece or workmanship or work of art. That's who you are! Masterpiece or workmanship here in the original is "poiema", which means something made, or a work, specifically a piece of poetry. So, the TPT puts it this way, Ephesians 2:10 TPT [10] We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfil the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfil it! This is the reason why doing God's word is natural to you. You're a practitioner of the word. (A practitioner is someone actively engaged in an art or discipline or profession. One synonym is performer) Now you can understand why James says in James 1:22-25 NKJV [22] But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. [23] For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; [24] for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. [25] But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. It's interesting because everywhere that the Word "doer" is used in the verses above, the Greek is "poietes". It means or refers to a performer, specifically a poet (according to the concordance). So, you can notice the connect. Not only are you God's poetry (poiema), but you are also His poet, the performer (poietes) of His word. Displaying his virtues and perfections (1 peter 2v9 AMP) as the light of the world (Ephesians 5v8, Matthew 5v14-16). So, renew your mind and let's light up this world with the light of life. PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you because the entrance of your word brings light and understanding. I renew my mind with the truth of your word. Thank you for giving me the innate ability to do your word through the help of your Spirit. May my life bring give you glory all the days of my life, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
