Don't try to earn what was gifted to you. Let that sink in! We were just dead men that were loved and helped of God. We had nothing to offer at salvation. Ephesians 2:1 NLT [1] Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. The natural man is wired to do something to merit what he has so he can boast. So, if it's about securing the love of God, we want to be able to give the "A, B, C’s" of securing God's love. To tell others that I have the code; I did this and that to be here. Sometimes we might want to be able to tell others the 5 keys of breaking free from XYZ addiction, and much more efforts of self. Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT [8] God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. [9] Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. There's nothing you'd do to step up or step-down God's love for you. Child of God, rest in the love of God for your life, it was a FINISHED work. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you for your love, kindness and your grace that has freely been given to me. Thank you for reminding me that I don’t need to fight or do something to earn your love. I rest in your love, and I am at peace because I am convinced that nothing can separate me from your love. Be glorified at all times, in Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
