Spiritual Growth

I Peter 2:2 NKJV [2] as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.

The reason why many don't grow in the things of God is because it is not everything in the Bible that accounts for your growth although it's very important to know what is written. You won't just grow because you heard something said from the Bible. There's a specific word that is required for growth in God. Everything you have as a believer including your sustenance in the kingdom is a result of that word. It's called the word of His grace. In fact, it's what granted us access to anything God has to offer in the first place. The apostle Peter said in I Peter 2:2 NKJV [2] as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. Then he specified what growth in the word should look like in II Peter 3:18 NKJV [18] but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Also, II Peter 1:2 NKJV [2] Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Growth in grace is growth in the knowledge of God which is Jesus our Lord. It is this grace that builds us up and that gave us access by faith to all of the inheritance that God had to offer. And Paul puts it this way Acts 20:32 NKJV [32] “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Spend time in the word of His grace, discovering Christ and uncovering the inheritance. Just like Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18 NKJV [18] the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you for the word that brings light and understanding. I pray that as I invest myself in the word of your grace, may I understand even deeper the riches of the glory of your inheritance. Amen!
