It is from two other Greek words “Meta” - meaning succession, afterward, Change, and “Nous” or “noeo” - meaning mind, comprehension or understanding. It therefore means to THINK DIFFERENTLY or RECONSIDER. So how does God bring about repentance in his children? Is it through Confession of sins or other way? Is it possible to repent without committing sin? Repentance is a product of the revelation of God's goodness. It is a message of faith toward God that causes you to change how you think about God and how you respond to his will. It's not confession of sins. Or saying you're sorry. When next you feel like you're sorry about something and think to yourself that God is angry, your corresponding action is not confession. It's also important to make the difference between godly sorrow and guilt. Both are a function of the training of our conscience. (1 John 3v20) Confession of sins doesn't make a difference with God in any way. What changes men is the revelation of God's goodness. When one is busy saying they are sorry, God is busy seeking for multiple ways to expose you to light and more truth about his love and goodness. Because that’s the way he changes men. For your actions to change, your thinking must change. Not your sorrow. PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for your mercy, love and grace. Thank you for being patient with me all the while and thank you for never giving up on me. I renew my mind with the entrance of your word, and I walk in the fullness of life that you’ve given to me.
