Colossians 3:3 NLT For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
Log in to save this devotionalThe beauty in knowing your identity is that it reveals even your ability in and through God. The moment the light bulb turns on about your true nature as love, you cease to depend on motivation or circumstances to walk in love. The moment you realize that you're perfectly righteous in the sight of God because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you cease to think that your efforts or lack thereof make you acceptable in His sight. When you realize that the power that rose Christ from the dead (Eph 1v19-20) is the same power that works in you (Eph 3v20), you begin to see possibilities beyond human ability. When you realize that the same body that seemingly is the cause of the sin that so easily entangles, had been rendered useless and impotent as touching sin (better put, crucified), you notice you don't have to stay bound. Consider yourself dead to all fears and alive to the realities made available for you in Christ. Christ is your life (Col 3v4). It is clear that knowledge is the light that wipes the darkness away. You're stronger than you realize, because you're the best and ultimate version of God's creativity (Eph 2v10). How could you possibly be disadvantaged? Square your shoulders, focus on God and move on. PRAYER: Father, thank you for giving me a new nature and a new identity in Christ Jesus. Thank you for your love that has been shed abroad in my heart through the Holy Spirit that was given to me. I walk in boldness and in the freedom that you already won for me, in Jesus name. Amen Further study: Ephesians 1:19-20, Ephesians 3:20, Ephesians 2:10.
